HHS announces additional $20 billion for the Provider Relief Fund and opens application portal

The Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), within the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), announced the opening of their application portal for Phase 3 Provider Relief Funding. The Provider Relief Fund, authorized in the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act earlier this year, will receive $20 billion in additional available funding. HHS also announced that eligibility criteria would be updated to include providers that have already received Provider Relief Fund payments; previously ineligible providers, such as those who began practicing in 2020; and an expanded group of both mental health and substance use disorder (SUD) providers. The deadline to apply is Friday, November 6th and more information can be found here.
