TREATMENT PROVIDERS URGE LEGISLATURE TO ENHANCE MEDICAID RESIDENTIAL SUD RATES

Ann Tucker

(2/15) -- CLASPP and LATP, Louisiana's foremost organizations representing substance use disorder (SUD) treatment provider agencies, have written a letter urging the Legislature to enhance Medicaid residential SUD treatment rates during the upcoming 2023 Regular Session.

The Louisiana Department of Health (LDH) recently conducted a study of residential SUD rates, which showed that "Louisiana Medicaid rates are significantly lower than other states for most levels of care," and that most rates for residential SUD treatment "have not increased since managed care began coordinating behavioral health services in March of 2012."
