The Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP) recently released their 2020 Drug-Free Communities (DFC) Support Program National Evaluation. The report notes that, since 2015, 51% of the U.S. population has lived in a community with a DFC coalition, and substance use/misuse declined for youth living in these communities. Data collected by coalitions indicated that past 30-day non-use increased significantly among middle school and high school students for alcohol, tobacco, marijuana, and prescription drugs. The report also includes data on communities served, efforts to build capacity, school sector implementation, strategy implementation, and promising practices.
